Just like Apple products, the Luma router is a piece of technology with beautiful sleek lines designed to execute intelligently its mission in a very user-friendly way. Luma could be classified in the next-generation routers that, unlike almost all previous routers, noticed the importance of design of one of the most used devices in all homes. An observation that many companies has failed to notice. Luma is, as the company called it, a “surround WiFi” that has very interesting features like the parental control, and an app from where you can control everything going on at the level of your home or office network all in a very easy to use interface.
Security and Parental Control
The effort made by the company at the level of Safety and Security is very noticeable in the Luma router. Along with a “enterprise-grade” security, parental control appears to be very easy to set and monitor with predefined options that are at your fingertips via a dedicated smartphone app and has the ability to be customized for your needs. For instance you can quickly block unwanted users, limit the time of how long your kids surf the internet, and even set website ratings for your children. Another interesting feature is the “Allowed control level” that gives you the ability to set the level of control of each person , and in case of children, predefined settings are already made according to your children ages, namely PG-13, PG and G-rated websites.
According to Engadget, prices will jump up after 30 days from then, meaning, $199 per device and $499 for three devices, which is very high after having been only $99 per device and $249 for a three-pack.
